Falcons, Raiders advance to boys’ hockey semifinals

FERGUS – No surprises Thursday in the District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey league’s quarter-final playoffs as the host teams, Centre Wellington Falcons and Erin Raiders, posted victories.

The first-place Falcons blanked the eighth-place Centennial Spartans 6-0 at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, while the third-place Raiders downed the sixth-place Ross Royals 6-4.

Sam Preisenhammer and J.J. Swanston shared the shutout for Centre Wellington.

Hayden Ireland, McCaiden Dixon and Jayden Bushey each had a goal and an assist for the Falcons while the other goals were scored by Ryan Mueller, Jack McDonald and Mitch Bernier.
