Falcons, Royals skate to girls’ hockey standoff

FERGUS – Nothing was decided at the top of the District 10 high school girls’ hockey league standings as the top two teams battled to a deadlock Thursday.

The Centre Wellington Falcons and Ross Royals skated to a 3-3 standoff at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex.

The Falcons lead the league because they’ve played one more game than the Royals. Centre Wellington’s at 5-0-1-0 and Ross is at 4-0-1-0.

Avery Lomax, Carolina Rossl and Lauren Brulotte had a goal apiece for Ross while Olivia Sarabura had two assists and Vanessa Ward and Evelyn Solomon had one each.

Kara Den Hoed struck for two goals for Centre Wellington while Lynsey Goodwin scored the other one. Sydney Healey and Natalie Beilhartz each had two assists while Abby Ferguson and Ella Chase each had one.
