Falcons seeded 10th for OFSAA boys field lacrosse festival

FERGUS – The Centre Wellington Falcons have been seeded 10th for the 12-team OFSAA provincial high school AAA boys’ field lacrosse festival in Owen Sound Wednesday and Thursday.

The Falcons won the CWOSSA title last week.

Centre Wellington has been placed in a pool with third-seed Neil McNeil Maroons of Scarborough and sixth-seed Bill Crothers Colts of Unionville.

Wednesday, the Falcons are to play Neil McNeil at 8 a.m. and Bill Crothers at 11 a.m.

Others in the tournament are top-seed St. Peter Saints of Peterborough, second-seed Maxwell Heights Mustangs of Oshawa, fourth-seed Denis Morris Reds of St. Catharines, fifth-seed Mayfield Mavericks of Caledon, seventh-seed Humberside Huskies of Toronto, eighth-seed Bishop Reding Royals of Milton, ninth-seed Sacred Heart, 11th-seed Owen Sound Wolves and 12th-seed Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Lakers.

Top two in each of the four pools advance to Thursday’s quarter-finals while the third-place finishers are to battle in a consolation round.

Medal games are set for Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
