Falcons shoot to top of girls’ hockey standings

FERGUS – The Centre Wellington Falcons shot to the top of the District 10 high school girls’ hockey league standings with a 4-1 victory over the Ross Royals Thursday at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex.

The Falcons top the standings with a 3-0-0 record while Centennial Spartans (2-1-0) and Ross (2-2-0) are tied for second. Lourdes Crusaders (1-0-1) are fourth, Guelph CVI Green Gaels (0-3-1) fifth and St. James Lions (0-2-0) sixth.

Ella Chase had a pair of goals for Centre Wellington while Carson Lean and Olivia MacMillan also scored. Assists were awarded to Cecilie Proctor, Abbey Zwep, Tianna Dietrich, Emily Palmer, MacMillan and Kara den Hoed.
