
Falcons surprise for first senior volleyball victory
GUELPH – The Centre Wellington Falcons posted their first victory of the District 10 high school senior boys’ volleyball season as they reached their halfway point of the campaign Tuesday.
The Falcons edged the Guelph CVI Green Gaels 3-2 at GCVI, winning 25-19, 25-19, 19-25, 22-25, 15-8.
The win leaves Centre Wellington at 1-4.
The Centennial Spartans, the only other team in the six-team loop to be at its midpoint of the regular season, leads the league at 5-0 while the Ross Royals are at 2-1. The other three teams (Bishop Macdonell Celtics, GCVI and Lourdes Crusaders) are each at 1-2.

The Royals won 22-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-16.

The Spartans won 25-18, 25-20, 25-16.

The Royals won 25-20, 24-26, 13-25, 25-19, 15-13.
Centennial leads the standings at 4-0 while Ross is second at 3-1. They’re followed by the Orangeville Bears at 2-1, Centre Wellington at 2-2, GCVI at 0-3 and Lourdes at 0-4.
