
Fast start sends Regals to win over Point Edward
POINT EDWARD – The Guelph Regals scored the first six goals of the game to start on their way to an 11-6 victory over the Point Edward Pacers in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play Sunday afternoon at the Point Edward Arena.
The first three of those goals came in the first six and a half minutes of the game. The Regals led 4-0 at the end of the first period and 8-2 after the second.

Marcus Keleher had four goals and four assists for Guelph while Dallon Evans had two goals and three assists and Ethan Keleher also scored twice. Owen Orpana had a goal and two assists, Tyler Beecraft a goal and an assist and Marcus Visentin a goal. Dylan Goddard picked up an assist.
Marcus Keleher is tied for fifth in the scoring race with 51 points (24 goals, 27 assists) in 10 games while Evans is tied for 14th with 45 points (16, 29) in 11 games.
Graham Armstrong had two goals for Point Edward while Ryan Lumley, Josh Rice, Evan Turner and Kaleb Edlington also scored.
The Regals outshot the Pacers 54-31 and went 3-for-6 on their power play while Point Edward went 1-for-5.
Mateo Beaudin had 25 saves in the win for the Regals while Point Edward goalie Aidan Foster had 43 saves.
Guelph is fifth in the Western Conference at 8-5-0 while Point Edward is ninth at 2-9-0.
The Regals have a pair of road games this week as they’re to play the London Blue Devils (0-11-0) Friday at 8 p.m. at London’s Lambeth Arena and the Elora Mohawks (12-1-0) Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Elora and District Community Centre.
