
Field hockey Gryphs rally to knot Waterloo
WATERLOO – The Guelph Gryphons scored twice in the fourth quarter for a 2-2 tie with the Waterloo Warriors in OUA women’s field hockey play Sunday at Warriors Field.
The tie followed a 2-1 win for Waterloo in Guelph Friday night.

Delaney Jacklin and Nyah Miranda tallied for the Gryphs with Miranda’s goal coming on a penalty corner with a minute to go in the game.
Waterloo had opened the scoring with a pair of goals five minutes apart in the opening quarter. Taylor Goodhue and Hannah Cook scored for the hosts.
Nicola Leech was in net for the Gryphs while Waterloo had Marley Dowling in goal.
The Western Mustangs lead the West Division at 3-0-1 while the Gryphs and Warriors are tied for second with 1-1-2 records and the McMaster Marauders trail at 0-3-1.
Top two teams in the division are to meet in the division final, also a league semifinal, Oct. 30 with the division champ moving on to the OUA final Nov. 6.
The Gryphs get a break this week and are scheduled to play Western Oct. 15 at London and Oct. 19 at Varsity Field. Second in the division could be decided when the Gryphs and Waterloo meet again Oct. 22 at Waterloo and Oct. 24 at Varsity Field.
