Frake scores slim win in LPC’s Labour Day Time Trials

PUSLINCH – David Frake scored a slim win in the LPC Triathlon Club’s Labour Day Time Trial bike race Monday.

Competing on LPC’s Leslie Street course, Frake completed the distance in 19 minutes and 34 seconds to finish one second ahead of pro triathlete Cody Beals. Third at 19:45 was Mikael Staer Nathan.

The top four – Marek Bialkowski was fourth in 20:04 – all competed in the aero category.

Top finisher in the eddy category and one of only three in the category who finished in the top 15 overall was Jacob Jamnicky in a course record time of 20:12. The previous category record for the course was 20:43 set on Canada Day in 2018.

Second in the category Monday, eighth overall, was Scott Breen in 20:45 while Dylan Pust was 10th in 21:22.

Andrea Smith was the top female finisher in the aero category at 23:02 while Carley Somerset was top female in the eddy class at 23:55.

Winnerz took the team time trial in 19:12.2 while Not Sucks was runner-up at 20:58.0. The team time trial features squads of two or more cyclists.

The LPC club holds three time trials a year, always on holidays – Victoria Day, Canada Day and Labour Day.
