Fusion takes second game of minor bantam A final

TRENTON – The Centre Wellington Fusion are a win away from celebrating the Ontario Minor Hockey Association minor bantam A championship win.

The Fusion posted a 3-1 win over the Quinte West Hawks Sunday at the Duncan McDonald arena to grab a 4-0 lead in the six-point final.

Centre Wellington had won the opener 3-2 in overtime Saturday at Fergus.

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at 3:20 p.m. at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex.

Centre Wellington is looking for its first title in the category while Quinte West has won it twice and the core of the team were OMHA peewee A champions last season.

 

Midget A

Woolwich Wildcats pulled even with the Fusion by posting a 5-0 win at Elmira Sunday.

That result squared the six-point series at two points apiece as Centre Wellington had won the opener 3-2 in overtime at Fergus Sunday.

Third game is slated for Saturday at 7:15 p.m. at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex.

 

Bantam AE2

The Fusion and Garden City Merritton are knotted at two points apiece in the six-point final series after Garden City Merritton claimed a 3-2 win Sunday at Merritton.

Centre Wellington had won 5-1 at Elora Saturday.

Game 3 is to go Saturday at 5:15 p.m. at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex.
