Gaels soccer girls tie Falcons in another stalemate

FERGUS – The Guelph CVI Green Gaels and Centre Wellington Falcons battled to a scoreless draw Friday in District 10 high school girls’ soccer play at Centre Wellington.

Rylie Wheelhouse picked up the shutout for the Gaels while Frances Wolkensperg had the clean sheet for the Falcons.

The stalemate moves Centre Wellington into a three-way tie for third with the Bishop Macdonell Celtics and Orangeville Scarlet Bears. Each has a 2-2-2 record.

The tie was nothing new for the Gaels as it was their fourth in six league outings. GCVI remains sixth at 1-1-4, a point behind the deadlocked trio.

The league’s regular season is to wrap up with four games Tuesday.
