GCVI Gaels run senior hoops’ win streak to four games

GUELPH – The holiday break didn’t cool down the Guelph CVI Green Gaels as they won their fourth consecutive District 10 high school senior boys’ basketball league match Tuesday as they edged the Lourdes Crusaders 49-48 at GCVI.

Rylan Ninaber led the Gaels with 15 points.

Sebastian Porcellato hit for 20 for Lourdes.

The win streak has lifted the Gaels into fourth in the league at 5-4. Lourdes is third at 6-3.


Ross 58 Centre Wellington 35

Gatlang Pout struck for 10 points for Ross while Noah Eyob and Dom Vanos each had eight.

Erik Dekkert’s 10 points led Centre Wellington while Aiden Davy netted nine and Johnny Barclay had six.

Ross is second in the standings at 7-2 while Centre Wellington’s at 2-7.


Bishop Macdonell 55 Orangeville 44

Ramez Kridli collected 16 points to lead Bishop Mac while Nathan Perry had 11 and Matt MacEachern contributed 10.

Keelan Steele and Brayden Cooke each had 14 for Orangeville.

Bishop Mac is tied with the St. James Lions for fifth at 3-6 while Orangeville trails at 1-8.



Orangeville 75 Bishop Macdonell 37

Jon Bull netted 16 points for Orangeville as the Bears remained undefeated. Cole Purdell-Lewis had 14 and Huck gathered 13.

R. DiCiccio had 12 for Bishop Mac.

Orangeville leads the standings at 9-0 while Bishop Mac is tied for sixth at 2-7.


Centennial 50 St. James 31

Leading scorers not reported.

Centennial is third at 7-2 while St. James is eighth at 0-9.


Lourdes 51 Guelph CVI 36

Evan Krueger and Joshua Cadele netted 11 points apiece for Lourdes.

Jordan Rogers had a game-high 16 for GCVI.

Lourdes is fourth at 5-4 and GCVI is tied for sixth at 2-7.


Ross 69 Centre Wellington 38

Robert Vosper connected for 21 points to lead Ross.

Centre Wellington received 10 from Hunter Mathewson.

Ross is second at 8-1 and Centre Wellington is fifth at 3-5.
