Golf titles for Gray Lamont, Funk and Ross

GUELPH – Nathaniel Gray Lamont of the Guelph CVI Green Gaels, Isabelle Funk of the St. James Lions and the Ross Royals claimed titles Tuesday at the District 10 high school golf championships at the Guelph Lakes Golf and Country Club.

Lamont captured the boys’ title with a round of 70 while Dylan Weber of the Bishop Macdonell Celtics and Kaylan Lecompte of Ross finished with rounds of 73.

Funk grabbed the girls’ title with a round of 90 to finish a shot ahead of Amy McLeod of Ross.

The Royals won the boys’ team title for the first time since 2015 with a cumulative team score of 228, two ahead of Bishop Mac.
