Green Gaels senior girls add second hoops victory

GUELPH – The Guelph CVI Green Gaels made it two wins in as many outings as they topped the Bishop Macdonell Celtics 48-13 in District 10 high school senior girls’ basketball play Thursday on their home court.

Acadia Tremain led the Gaels with 11 points while Nyssa Matthews and Nicole Carbone added nine apiece.

Victoria Gamlova had six for Bishop Mac while Hayley Clark and Melody Bruce each had two.

Ross 48 St James 31

Sierra Curvan’s 14 points helped Ross win its season opener. Abby Blashuk added 10.

Arielle Balmero had a game-high 22 for St. James while Eloise Porcellato netted five.

Junior Girls

Bishop Macdonell 52 Guelph CVI 33

Sydney Richardson sparked Bishop Mac with a 21-point outing while T. Kridli collected 19.

A. Ostrander had 11 for GCVI while G. Rankin followed with 10.
