
Gryphon baseball men sweep Brock, McMaster aside
GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons completed their OUA baseball regular season by sweeping a pair of doubleheaders against the two teams they’re to face in the West Regional tournament.
The Gryphs defeated the McMaster Marauders 3-2 and 12-4 Saturday in Hamilton and the Brock Badgers 17-14 and 10-0 Sunday at Hastings Stadium.
Guelph, McMaster and Brock are to gather at Hastings Stadium Friday and Saturday for the West Regional. It’ll be round-robin play Friday with the semifinal and final set for Saturday.
Guelph finished the regular season with a 16-2 record while Brock finished at 9-5 and McMaster finished at 4-7.
Friday, the Gryphs are to play McMaster at 1:30 p.m. and Brock at 5 p.m. Brock and McMaster are to play in the other round-robin match at 10 a.m.
The team that finishes first in the round-robin gets a berth in the regional final while the other two are to compete in the semifinal Saturday at 10 a.m. The final is to go Saturday at 1 p.m.
