Gryphon field hockey women edge McMaster
HAMILTON – The Guelph Gryphons yielded the first goal of the game then rallied to edge the McMaster Marauders 2-1 in OUA women’s field hockey play Friday at McMaster’s Alumni Field.
Jessica Lim scored for McMaster early in the second quarter while Braelyn Dennis pulled Guelph even in the third quarter.

Sidney Evans connected for the winner for the Gryphs midway through the fourth quarter.
The Gryphs dominated play as they outshot the Marauders 26-4 including a 15-3 advantage in shots on net. They outshot McMaster 21-1 in the second half alone.
The Gryphs also took 19 of the game’s 22 penalty corners.
Guelph leads the OUA West at 3-0-2 while McMaster is fourth at 1-3-1.
The two teams are to play again Sunday at 1 p.m. at Guelph’s Varsity Field.
