Gryphon field hockey women edged by Toronto

GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons surrendered a single goal, but that was enough to fall to the Toronto Varsity Blues in OUA women’s field hockey play Sunday at Varsity Field.

Emily Ziraldo scored for Toronto 12 minutes into the match.

Elizabeth O’Hara picked up the shutout for the Varsity Blues while Amanda Hodgert took the loss for the Gryphs.

The Varsity Blues lead the league at 5-0-0 while the Gryphs are third at 2-1-1.

The Gryphs are to play three games next weekend at Kingston as they’re to play the McGill Martlets (0-4-0) both Saturday and Sunday and they’re also to play the York Lions (4-0-1) Saturday.
