Gryphon hockey men nip Laurier to finish 2021 games

WATERLOO – The Guelph Gryphons wrapped up the 2021 portion of their OUA men’s hockey season with a 2-1 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks Thursday night at the Sun Life Financial Arena in the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex.

Gio Finoro’s power-play goal with just less than five and a half minutes to go in regulation time gave the Gryphs the win.

Laurier outshot the Gryphs 35-24. The Gryphs went 1-for-3 on their power play and they held Laurier scoreless on three power plays.

Brendan Cregan had 34 saves for the win in net for Guelph while Christian Propp was between the pipes for Laurier.
