Hannah Tait’s unassisted shorthanded goal in the final minute of regulation time forced an overtime period that went its full seven minutes without another goal being scored.

The Gryphs outshot the Gaels 36-32 and neither team scored on its power play, Guelph having three power plays and Queen’s getting four.

While the loss put an end to a three-game winning streak for the Gryphs, they haven’t lost in regulation time for five games, a streak that started with a loss in overtime to the Brock Badgers and continued with wins over Queen’s, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks and the Western Mustangs.

The Gryphs are second in the West Division at 3-1-1-1 while Queen’s is fourth in the East Division at 3-2-0-1.
