
Gryphon hockey women top Laurier in Woodstock
WOODSTOCK – The Guelph Gryphons skated to a 4-1 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks in OUA women’s hockey preseason play Saturday night at the Woodstock District Community Complex.
Chihiro Suzuki led the Gryphs with a pair of goals while Jaime Magoffin and Vanessa Bueti also scored.
The result gives the Gryphs a 2-1-1 record in the preseason while Laurier is 0-3-2.
The Gryphs are to play the Toronto Metropolitan Bold (formerly the Ryerson Rams) in preseason play Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Gryphon Centre.
Guelph’s regular season is to open Oct. 20 with a home game against the Waterloo Warriors. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
