Gryphon lacrosse men score pair of victories

GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons scored a pair of CUFLA men’s field lacrosse victories on the weekend.

The Gryphs defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks 12-7 at Waterloo Friday night and dropped the Laurentian Voyageurs 20-2 at the Gryphon Soccer Complex Saturday afternoon.

Scoring details were not reported for either game.

The wins lift the Gryphs above the .500 winning percentage as they stand at 5-3 with two games, both at home, remaining on their schedule.

Western Mustangs and Brock Badgers are tied atop the West Division at 5-0 while the Gryphs are third at 5-3. Laurier’s at 3-3 and are followed by the Toronto Varsity Blues at 2-3, McMaster Marauders at 1-4 and Laurentian at 0-7.

The Gryphs are to host Western Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. and Toronto Oct. 20 at 1 p.m.
