Gryphon lacrosse women put brakes on losing skid
LONDON, Ont. – The Guelph Gryphons put an end to their five-game losing streak with a pair of wins in OUA women’s lacrosse play Saturday on the Western University campus.
The Gryphs downed the McMaster Marauders 7-3 and edged the Brock Badgers 10-9.
Scoring details were not reported.
The wins lift the Gryphs to sixth in the 10-team league at 5-6-0. The wins are the most in regular-season play since they won 10 in 2013, their silver-medal season.
The Gryphs are to complete their regular season Oct. 14 with a pair of games at Oshawa. They’re to play the Trent Excalibur (6-2-2) at 9:45 a.m. and Queen’s Gaels (10-0-1) at 4:45 p.m.
