UBC shot ahead with a try in the opening minute of the game and the Thunderbirds never looked back.

UBC led 33-0 at halftime and kept Guelph scoreless until the fourth minute of the second half. The Thunderbirds responded to that with three consecutive tries before the teams traded tries in the final six minutes.

Kendra Cousineau had a try and two converts for the Gryphs while Adea Elliot and Maddie Hobson each scored a try.

Savannah Bauder had a try and six converts for UBC while Rori Wood scored two tries. Getting one try apiece were Madison Gold, Florence Symonds, Shoshannah Seumanutafa, Kally King, Piper Logan and Mackenzie Carson.

The loss by 38 points was the largest margin of defeat for the Gryphs since they were dumped 89-0 by the McGill Redbirds in preseason play Sept. 2, 2012.

The OUA champion Gryphs finish their season with an overall 6-4 record including the preseason, regular season, league playoffs and national tournament.
