Gryphon soccer men and Waterloo battle to deadlock
WATERLOO – The Guelph Gryphons surrendered a goal in penalty time to settle for a 2-2 draw with the Waterloo Warriors in OUA men’s soccer play Wednesday at Waterloo’s Warrior Field.
Waterloo grabbed the early lead with the only goal of the first half before the Gryphs netted a pair of goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half to surge ahead.

Lucas Doros and Cole Fernandez had unassisted markers for the locals.
Kevin Espiro and Sasha Dmitrovic tallied for Waterloo while Matheus Mello and Sebastian Guerrieri each had one assist.
The Gryphs outshot the Warriors 7-5 and the locals took five of the seven corner kicks awarded in the game.
Svyatoslav Artemenko had the tie in net for the Gryphs while Tony Awad picked up the stalemate in the Waterloo net.
The tie leaves both teams undefeated. The Gryphs lead the West Division at 3-0-2 while Waterloo is third at 2-0-1.
The Gryphs and Warriors are to meet again Friday at the Gryphon Soccer Complex. Game time is 8:15 p.m.
