Gryphon soccer men in knot with Montreal

MONTREAL – The Guelph Gryphons battled the Montreal Carabins to a 1-1 standoff in Canadian university men’s soccer preseason play Monday.

Mitch Lefebvre scored the goal for the Gryphs.

The tie leaves Guelph’s preseason record at 2-0-1 with a game to go Tuesday morning in Montreal against the Concordia Stingers.

The Gryphs are to open their OUA regular-season schedule with a pair of games at the Gryphon Soccer Complex this week. They’re to play the Windsor Lancers Friday at 4 p.m. and Western Mustangs Sunday at 3:15 p.m.
