Gryphon soccer men stretch streak to six wins

WATERLOO – The Guelph Gryphons extended their win streak to six games in the OUA men’s soccer league as they dropped the Waterloo Warriors 4-0 at Warrior Field Sunday.

The Gryphs struck for three goals in the first half for the victory.

Jace Kotsopoulos and Mitchell Lefebvre scored twice apiece for the Gryphs. Kotsopoulos leads the league in scoring with 14 goals while Lefebvre is tied for seventh with six.

Ryan Collins stopped seven shots to record the clean sheet in the Guelph net.

Matt Papadopoulos also stopped seven shots in the Waterloo net, but the Gryphons had 11 shots on goal.

The Gryphs lead the West Division at 7-1-1 while Waterloo is third at 6-4-0.

Next up for the Gryphs is a Saturday match with the Brock Badgers (3-5-1) at the Gryphon Soccer Complex. Game time is 3:15 p.m.
