Gryphon soccer women erupt in 2nd half to top Windsor

WINDSOR – The Guelph Gryphons struck for four goals in the second half as they dropped the Windsor Lancers 5-0 Friday night in OUA women’s soccer play at Windsor’s Alumni Field.

Alana MacLean’s goal in the 13th minute was the lone goal of the opening half.

Victoria Hinchliffe hit for three of the second-half goals with one of them coming on a penalty kick. Kaylin Twardowski had the other goal.

The Gryphs and Western are tied atop the West Division at 4-0-1 while Windsor is seventh at 1-3-1.

The Gryphs and Western are to meet Sunday at Western Field in London. Game time is 1 p.m.
