Gryphon volleyball men swept by Windsor

GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons suffered their second loss in as many days in OUA men’s volleyball play as they were swept 3-0 by the Windsor Lancers Sunday at the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre.

Windsor won 25-20, 28-26, 25-21.

The hosts fell behind 6-1 in the opening set, rallied to go ahead 11-10, but Windsor then saw Windsor score six of the next seven points to take control. The Gryphs had set point at 24-21 in the second set before the Lancers came back for the victory. Guelph never led in the third set, but had it tied late in the set before Windsor scored the final four points for the win.

The loss dropped the Gryphs to 2-2 while Windsor improved to 5-1.

The Gryphs are to travel to Thunder Bay match was also the final home match of 2018 for the Gryphs. Their next six matches are all on the road including the first two of 2019.

The Gryphs are off until Nov. 23 when they’re to play the Brock Badgers (1-5) at St. Catharines beginning at 8 p.m.
