
Gryphon volleyball men top Trent for third straight win
PETERBOROUGH – The Guelph Gryphons collected their third consecutive win in OUA men’s volleyball league play Saturday with a 3-1 victory over the Trent Excalibur at the Trent Athletic Centre.
The Gryphs prevailed 25-18, 25-17, 24-26, 25-21.

The Gryphs withstood 11 aces from the Excalibur to win. The locals had seven aces.
Guelph also had 42 kills, three blocks, 40 assists and 17 digs while Trent had 37 kills, four blocks, 32 assists and 15 digs.
Cameron Chadwick had 11 kills, an ace and a block for the Gryphs while Jonathan Pickett had nine kills and three aces and Noah Romero-Marshall had four kills. Arjun Selhi and Nathan Peters each had a block while Andrew Song had 17 assists, Jack Richards had 13 assists and two digs and Daniel Pickett had two assists and two digs. Richards and Jacob Bailey each had an ace.
Logan McCallum had 12 kills, two aces and a block for Trent while Daniel Austin had three aces, Evan Burke had two blocks, Aly Saydam had 22 assists and Isaac Avery and Ryan Austin each had four digs.
The win lifts the Gryphs to 4-1 in league play with the Excalibur are at 0-5.
The Gryphs and Excalibur are to play again Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Trent Athletic Centre.
