Gryphon volleyball women split matches at Wesmen tournament

WINNIPEG – The Guelph Gryphons split their games Saturday at the Winnipeg Wesmen’s women’s volleyball tournament.

The Gryphs lost 3-2 to the Saint Mary’s Huskies before they defeated the host Wesmen 3-1.

Guelph dropped the first set of the match with Winnipeg 25-23 before they rebounded with 25-16, 25-23 and 25-19 wins to take the match.

Scores of the loss to Saint Mary’s were not available.

The Gryphs are to complete their play in the tournament with a Sunday match against the Lakehead Thunderwolves.

The Gryphs return to OUA league play Jan. 11 with a match against the Nipissing Lakers at North Bay.
