Gryphon win streak ends, edged by Waterloo
GUELPH – The eight-game win streak for the Guelph Gryphons in OUA baseball play came to an end Sunday when they were edged 2-1 by the Waterloo Warriors in the second game of a doubleheader at Hastings Stadium.
That game was the fourth of the weekend for the Gryphs as they had earlier defeated Waterloo 9-6 in the first game of the twinbill.
Saturday at the Vaughan Concord Regional Park, the Gryphs took two from the Ottawa Gee-Gees as they won 11-8 and 11-6.
The results lift Guelph’s record to 12-2 while Waterloo’s at 9-5 and Ottawa’s at 0-4.
