Gryphons edged by Windsor in Provincial South match

WINDSOR – The Guelph Gryphons were edged 3-2 by the Windsor Caboto Strikers in Ontario Women’s Soccer League Provincial South play Saturday at Mic Mac Stadium.

Isabella Habuda scored all three goals for Windsor while Abby Russell and Kiana Endresz connected for a goal apiece for the Gryphons.

The win was the second in as many league outings for Windsor while the loss left the Gryphons at 1-1-0.

The Gryphons are to play Caledon FC (0-0-1) at Caledon Thursday. Game time is 9 p.m.


Provincial Elite

Victoria Hinchliffe hit for a hat trick in a 7-0 win over Waterloo United in league play Thursday at Waterloo’s RIM Park.

Sydney Johnson added a pair of goals while Cassie Wheldon and Abbi Morrell also scored.

Brooke Davidson picked up the shutout as the Gryphons improved their record to 1-0-1 while the match was the first league game of the season for Waterloo United.

The Gryphons are to play GS United (0-0-0) June 5 at Scarborough.
