Gryphons Elite U21 women edge London Academy in opener

GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons opened their Ontario Women’s Soccer League Provincial Elite U21 season by edging London Football Academy 4-3 Wednesday night at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.

H.J. Lochhead led the locals with a pair of goals while Sydney Vanderhoef and Mady Mcleanan also scored.

London received a pair of goals from Jennifer Milligan and one from Maddy Wilson.

Next game for the Gryphons is set for May 23 when they’re to play Saltfleet Stoney Creek at Hamilton’s Cardinal Newman high school. Game time is 9 p.m.
