Gryphons OWSL Provincial women edged by Windsor

GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons suffered a 2-1 loss to Windsor Caboto Sunday in Ontario Women’s Soccer League Provincial play at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.

Sarah Bieman scored the goal for the hosts while Michelle Laliberte had both goals for Windsor.

The result stretched Guelph’s winless streak to six games as its last win was 2-1 over the league-leading GS United Ridgebacks June 18. The Gryphons do have two ties in the streak and are 2-7-3 overall. Windsor’s at 4-4-2.

The Gryphons have two games left on their league schedule, both at home. They’re to host the Waterloo Rangers (2-4-3) Thursday at 9 p.m. and the St. Catharines Jets (5-2-3) Aug. 8 at 9 p.m.
