Gryphons Provincial women edged by Waterloo Rangers

KITCHENER – The Guelph Gryphons were edged 1-0 by the Waterloo Rangers in Ontario Women’s Soccer League Provincial play Thursday night at Kitchener’s Woodside Park.

Megan Voutour scored the game’s only goal.

While the game was the season opener for Waterloo, it was the second 1-0 result of the season for the Gryphons who are now at 1-1-0.

The Gryphons are to play Windsor Caboto at Windsor’s Mic Mac Stadium Sunday at 2 p.m. It’s to be Windsor’s second game of season. Caboto’s first game is set for Saturday. Windsor’s also scheduled to play seven consecutive home games to start the 14-game season and then seven straight on the road to finish the season.
