Gryphons U21 PE women edged by Vaughan Azzurri

GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons suffered their third consecutive loss in Ontario Women’s Soccer League Provincial Elite U21 play Wednesday night at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.

Each of those setbacks has been by a single goal, the latest a 2-1 loss to Vaughan Azzurri.

Katya Tarasoff scored the lone goal for the Gryphons.

Erica Fiorentino and Samantha Brooks connected for a goal apiece for Vaughan Azzurri.

The result leaves the Gryphons at 2-3-1 and Vaughan Azzurri at 3-2-1.

The Gryphons are to start a stretch of three consecutive road games Sunday with a match against FC Durham Academy at Vaso’s Field at Durham College in Oshawa. Game time is 7 p.m.
