
Guelph CVI, Centennial to meet in junior soccer final
GUELPH – Guelph CVI Green Gaels posted two wins and a tie Tuesday to finish atop the District 10 high school junior boys’ soccer league at the completion of the league’s regular season.
The Gaels defeated the Centre Wellington Falcons 4-0 and Centennial Spartans 3-2 and battled the Orangeville Bears to a 2-2 standoff in games played at Centennial CVI and College Heights Secondary School.
Gaels and Centennial are to meet again Tuesday in the D10 final at College Heights. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
Tuesday’s results left GCVI with a 5-0-1 record while Centennial placed second at 4-1-1. They’re followed by the Ross Royals at 3-2-1, St. James Lions at 3-3-0, Orangeville at 2-3-1, Lourdes Crusaders at 2-4-0 and Centre Wellington at 0-6-0.

Mario T had a hat trick for GCVI while Lucas Z scored the other goal and Mo S was credited with the shutout.
St. James 3 Lourdes 1

Lourdes 3 Ross 2
Abraham Omot, Uail Kiflom and Amanuel Mengstab collected single goals for Lourdes.
Scoring for Ross were Josh Verma and Kai Chin.
Guelph CVI 3 Centennial 2
Omar Ladhani, Clive Bradshaw and Marko Trkulja connected for single goals for GCVI.
Marcus Taggart and Tristan Genove had the goals for Centennial.
St. James 3 Orangeville 2
Adam Karauda led St. James with a pair of goals while Nolan Purdy scored the other goal.
Noah Smith and Kettrick Amenaty tallied once each for Orangeville.
Guelph CVI 2 Orangeville 2
Bryson Cook and Youssef Boulis scored for GCVI.
Orangeville’s goals were scored by Noah Smith and Bashir Suleiman.
