Guelph Gryphons OWSL squads win and tie

GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons opened their Ontario Women’s Soccer League Provincial South season with a 1-0 win over North Mississauga Black Thursday night at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.

Alisa Cogan scored the game’s only goal while Laura Foresi was credited with the shutout.

Next up for the Gryphs is a game against Windsor Caboto Strikers (0-0-0) May 26 at Windsor’s Mic Mac Stadium starting at 2 p.m.


OWSL Provincial U21 South

The Guelph Gryphons and Kitchener Spirit battled to a 1-1 standoff in their season opener Thursday at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.

Alexandra Zonneveld scored for the Gryphons while Nikita Truong tallied for Kitchener.

The Gryphons are to play FC London (1-0-0) at the Western Mustang field May 27 at 2 p.m.
