
Guelph Regals pull away to double Hamilton
HAMILTON – The Guelph Regals scored five of the final six goals of the game to claim an 8-4 victory over the Hamilton Bengals in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play Thursday at Hamilton’s Rosedale arena.
The Regals broke a 3-3 tie with a pair of goals 47 seconds apart late in the second period.

The Regals led 3-1 at the end of the first period and 5-3 after the second.
Owen Orpana struck for a hat trick for the Regals while Marcus Keleher had a pair of goals and Parker Lock and Ethan Keleher scored once apiece. The identity of the other scorer was unknown. Dylan Goddard and Dallon Evans each had two assists while Dylan Davey, Zak Holmes, Orpana and Marcus Keleher each had one.
Ben Dietrich had two goals for Hamilton while Justin Hill and Cody Inness also scored. Alexander Long set up two of the goals while Inness had an assist.
Shots on net were not reported. The Regals went 1-for-6 on their power play while Hamilton was scoreless on two power plays.
Anthony Fonte was in net for Guelph while Hamilton had Connor Waller in net.
The result leaves the Regals at 2-1-0 and Hamilton at 1-1-0.
The Regals are to host the Windsor Clippers at the Victoria Road arena Sunday at 3 p.m. in Windsor’s season opener.
