Guelph Regals romp to whitewash of London

LONDON – The Guelph Regals scored 13 times before the London Blue Devils managed their first goal of the game as the Regals romped to a 19-5 victory in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play Friday night at the Lambeth Arena.

The 19 goals were Guelph’s largest single-game output of the season.

The victory also left the Regals a win away from securing a playoff berth.

Guelph held London scoreless for almost half the game as Robert Morgan connected for the first goal for the home side at 8:44 of the second period.

Guelph led 11-0 at the end of the first period and 14-2 after the second. The Regals outshot the Blue Devils 87-31.

Dallon Evans had four goals and four assists for the Regals while Joel Stevens had three goals and two assists and Reece DiCicco also had a hat trick. Dylan Goddard collected two goals and six assists while Riley McLellan had two goals and an assist, Marcus Keleher a goal and five assists, Marcus Visentin a goal and three assists, Dylan Davey a goal and an assist, Forrester Bristol and Julian Siragusa a goal apiece, Parker Lock three assists, Aiden Marroni two assists and goalkeeper Dante Mancini, Sam MacDonald, Evan Crowder and Tyler Beecraft one assist apiece.

Morgan scored twice for London while the other goals were netted by Tyler Fletcher, Brandon Dale and Dennison Chrisjohn.

The Regals went 1-for-3 on their power play while London was scoreless on two power plays. Both teams scored a shorthanded goal.

Penalties were minimal in the game – three minors to London and two to Guelph.

The result leaves the Regals at 9-5-0 and London at 0-13-0.

The Regals are to play the Western Conference-leading Elora Mohawks (12-1-0) at the Elora and District Community Centre Sunday at 7 p.m.
