Guelph Regals, Six Nations to start playoffs Friday

GUELPH – The Guelph Regals and Six Nations Rebels are to begin their Ontario junior B lacrosse league playoff series Friday at Hagersville.

The best-of-seven Western Conference quarter-final is to start at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena Friday beginning at 8 p.m.

Second game is slated for Monday at 8 p.m. at the Victoria Road arena while the third game is to go at Hagersville June 26 at 8 p.m.

If a fourth game is necessary, it’s to be played at Victoria Road arena June 29. Game time is 7 p.m.

If the series goes its five-game maximum, the fifth and deciding game is to be played at Hagersville July 1 at 8 p.m.

Six Nations finished first in the South West Division and Western Conference with a 19-1-0 record. The Regals were fourth in the Mid West Division and eighth in the conference at 6-12-2.

Six Nations took both regular-season meetings between the teams as the Rebels won 9-5 in Guelph May 19 and 12-2 at Hagersville May 31.

The series will be the first playoff series for the Regals since 2016 when they were beaten 3-1 in a best-of-five conference quarter-final by the Niagara Thunderhawks.
