
Guelph Regals’ win streak comes to an end in Windsor
WINDSOR – The Guelph Regals saw their season-opening win streak come to an end Saturday when they were dropped 12-5 by the Windsor Clippers in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play at Forest Glade Arena.
The Regals had won their previous four games while the win for Windsor was its second in as many league outings this season.

Windsor scored the first three goals of the game and led 3-1 at the end of the first period and 8-4 after the second. The Clippers had a six-goal run that started with four minutes to go in the second period and ended midway through the third.
The Regals received single goals from Sam MacDonald, James Mackey, Ethan Keleher, Marcus Keleher and Dawson Bloch. Goalkeeper Dante Mancini, Parker Lock, Tyler Beecraft, the Kelehers and Riley McLellan each had an assist.
Connor McManus and Xander Derkatz each scored hat tricks for Windsor while single goals were netted by Malikye Good, Brandon Coulter, Calum Brennan, Nathan DeThomasis, Kane Murphy and Max Frattaroli. Good collected four assists while Brennan and Frattaroli had three apiece and Kaleb Sanderson and McManus each had two. Getting one assist each were Vance Dalpe and Derkatz.
Windsor outshot the Regals 37-36 and went 2-for-6 on its power play while the locals went 2-for-7.
Mancini had 25 saves in net for the Regals while Chase Cosgrove had 31 for Windsor.
The Regals are to play three home games at the Victoria Road arena next week as they’re to host the Elora Mohawks Wednesday at 8 p.m., St. Catharines Athletics Friday at 8 p.m. and Windsor Sunday at 3 p.m.
