
Guelph Royals-Jackfish game in Welland postponed
WELLAND – The Guelph Royals had their scheduled Intercounty Baseball League game against the Welland Jackfish Thursday night at the Welland Stadium postponed as rain created poor field conditions.
The game is to be rescheduled.
The London Majors lead the league at 6-1 while Welland is at 7-2. The Royals, at 4-4, are one of three teams at. 500 winning percentage. The others, both at 5-5, are the Barrie Baycats and Toronto Maple Leafs. They’re followed by the Kitchener Panthers at 3-4, Hamilton Cardinals at 2-4 and Brantford Red Sox at 0-7.
The Royals are scheduled to play three games in four days as they’re to host Hamilton Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hastings Stadium before playing in Barrie Sunday at 7 p.m. They’re also to host Welland Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
