
Guelph Silvercreeks connect to down St. Thomas
ST. THOMAS – The Guelph Silvercreeks made it two wins in as many days as they downed the St. Thomas Tomcats 10-4 in Inter-County Baseball Association 22U play Thursday at Emslie Field.
The Creeks clobbered 12 hits in the game, but committed four errors, while St. Thomas had half as much in both categories – six hits and two errors.

The Creeks had eight runs before their hosts managed to score their first. Guelph had four runs in the first, two in the second and two in the top of the third before St. Thomas hit for three in the bottom of the inning. The locals added single runs in the fifth and seventh innings while St. Thomas completed the scoring with a run in the ninth.
Ethan Vivian picked up the win for the Creeks as he yielded a hit and no earned runs in four innings. He had eight strikeouts.
Justin Philp and Matthew Cutten also saw time on the mound. Philp also yielded a hit and no earned runs in four innings and had three strikeouts while Cutten gave up one earned run in his inning of work. He had two strikeouts.
Ashton Patterson went 1-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs while Arthur Kowara also homered and had four RBIs. Eric Blamauer went 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base while Noah Roberts went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs while Alex Camilo went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases and three runs.
The win leaves Guelph’s record at 2-0-1 while St. Thomas falls to 1-2-1.
The Creeks are to host the Brantford Junior Red Sox (2-2-0) Wednesday at Hastings Stadium. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
