Guelph Storm back on ice Tuesday to start training camp

GUELPH – The Guelph Storm are to open the on-ice portion of their training camp for the 2018-19 Ontario Hockey League season Tuesday.

Players are to arrive at the Sleeman Centre earlier in the day and have their fitness testing starting at 3 p.m.

Following the fitness testing, the players will hit the ice for their first scrimmage at 6 p.m.

They’ll also have scrimmages at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. both Wednesday and Thursday and hold their first practice Friday at 12 p.m.

They’ll host the Peterborough Petes in a preseason game Saturday at 7 p.m. and hold another practice Sunday at 12 p.m.

Monday at 2 p.m. the Storm is to host the Mississauga Steelheads in another preseason game.

The Storm’s regular season is to start Sept. 20 with a game against the Windsor Spitfires at Windsor.

First home game is set for Sept. 21 when the Storm is to host the Sudbury Wolves. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
