Guelph Storm edged by Windsor

GUELPH – The Guelph Storm were held to goals in the first and last minutes of the third period as they were edged 3-2 by the Windsor Spitfires in Ontario Hockey League play Friday night at the Sleeman Centre.

The Spitfires scored once in each period.

Cooper Walker scored 29 seconds into the third period for the Storm while Brayden Guy wrapped up the scoring with 27 seconds to go. Cameron Supryka, Sasha Pastujov and Michael Buchinger each had an assist.

Wyatt Johnston connected for the first two goals for Windsor while Alex Christopoulos added the eventual game-winner with 4:18 to go in the game. Assists went to Matthew Maggio, Ethan Miedema, Josh Currie and Nicholas DeAngelis.

The Storm were also held less than 10 shots in each period including two in the opening period as they were outshot 37-19. Neither team managed a power-play goal, the Spitfires having five power plays and Guelph one.

Mathias Onuska had 17 saves for winning Windsor and Owen Bennett had 34 for the Storm.
