
Guelph Storm rallies to double Erie Otters
GUELPH – The Guelph Storm came back with three goals in the third period to double the Erie Otters 4-2 in OHL play Friday night at the Sleeman Centre.
Erie had scored the first two goals of the game, getting both goals in a span of 2:47 just past the midway point of the opening period.

The Storm’s comeback started in the final minute of the first period when they netted their first goal of the game.
After a scoreless second, the Storm scored three times in the final six and a half minutes of the third. One was a power-play goal and the final one was a shorthanded marker into an empty net with 34 seconds to play.
Danny Zhilkin, Max Namestnikov, Jake Murray and Cam Allen had a goal apiece for the Storm while Murray also had two assists. Matthew Poitras, Jake Karabela, Payton Robinson and Braeden Bowman each had one assist.
The Otters outshot the Storm 29-28 and went 1-for-7 on their power play while Guelphj was 2-for-4 with the manpower advantage.
Jacob Oster had 27 saves for the Storm while Nolan Lalonde had 24 for Erie.
The win lifts the Storm to 9-13-2-1. They’re ninth in the Western Conference, one point behind the Soo Greyhounds (7-10-4-4) and two behind the Otters (10-10-0-3).
The Storm are to host the 10th-place Kitchener Rangers (9-13-0-0) Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Sleeman Centre.
