Guelph Storm shut down by Owen Sound
GUELPH – The Guelph Storm was kept scoreless for more than 56 minutes as they were downed 4-1 by the Owen Sound Attack in Ontario Hockey League play Friday night at the Sleeman Centre.
Owen Sound scored twice in the first period, once in the second and extended its lead to four goals with just over four minutes to go in the game.
Cooper Walker of the Storm responded with his second of the season to ruin Owen Sound goalkeeper Mack Guzda’s bid for a shutout. Jacob Roach and Luka Profaca assisted on the goal that came with 3:29 to go.
Kaleb Pearson, Barret Kirwin, Matthew Struthers and Adam McMaster scored the goals for the Attack while Andrew Perrott, Sergey Popov and Carter Robertson each had two assists and Aidan Dudas had one.
Owen Sound outshot Guelph 33-26 and went 1-for-3 on its power play while the Storm was scoreless on three power plays.
Owen Bennett had 29 saves for the Storm while Guzda had 25 for Owen Sound.
