Guelph United hits in second half to remain unbeaten

GUELPH – Guelph United erupted for four goals in the second half to record their fourth consecutive League1 Ontario Men’s Premier soccer win Sunday at the Centennial Bowl.

The second-half outburst gave United a 6-2 victory over BVB IA Waterloo in a game they never led until the second half.

Camilo Vasconcelos put United ahead nine minutes into the second half with his second goal of the game.

Jared Agyemang had a pair of goals for the locals while single goals were added by Damian Truong and Leo Shrimpton netted single goals.

Ank Nibogora scored both goals for Waterloo.

Carter Robart had the win in net for United.

The win was the fourth in a row for United and kept them unbeaten on the season with a 4-0-2 record.

United is tied for fifth in the 21-team league. Waterloo is tied for 18th at 1-5-0.

The locals are to play North Mississauga SC (2-4-1) at Mattamy Sports Park Friday at 8 p.m.
