U20 Men

Guelph United surrendered a pair of goals in the first half as they suffered a 2-0 loss to Whitecaps London in League1 Ontario Men U20 play Thursday at Eastview Park.

Myles Nazarewicz tallied in the second minute and Brennan Keba added the other goal in the 33rd minute.

The result leaves Guelph United 10th in the 14-team Southwest Division at 2-5-2 and Whitecaps London second at 5-0-4.

Guelph United is to host Burlington SC Monday at 9 p.m. at Eastview Park.


League 2 Women

Guelph United was handed a 3-0 setback by Hamilton United in league play Wednesday at Eastview Park.

A pair of goals a minute apart in the final half hour of regulation time started Hamilton United on its way to the win.

Lorna Morcone in the 67th minute and Julia Hesmer in the 68th minute collected those goals. Kayleigh Digirolamo, who entered the game after Hesmer’s goal, added the other goal for the visitors in the 83rd minute.

Lauren Pohl recorded the shutout for Hamilton United.

Guelph United is 10th in the 10-team Southwest Division with a 0-10-0 record. Hamilton United leads at 5-2-1.

Guelph United is to play fourth-place BVB IA Waterloo (4-4-2) Thursday at 8 p.m. at Waterloo’s RIM Park in their next league outing.


League 2 Men

A goal early in the second half proved to be the winner as Guelph United edged St. Catharines Roma in league play Monday on the Club Roma field in St. Catharines.

Gregor McKeon hit for the winner three minutes into the second half.

Yuki Ibie had pulled Guelph United even with a goal with one minute to go in the opening half.

Matthew Bogusat of St. Catharines connected in the 12th minute with the game’s first goal.

Guelph United is second in the eight-team Southwest Division at 7-1-1. St. Catharines is fourth at 4-6-0.

Guelph United is to host fourth-place BVB IA Waterloo (4-4-2) Wednesday at 9 p.m. at Eastview Park.
