Guelph United Men blanked by North Toronto

Guelph United surrendered a pair of goals in the first 20 minutes of the match as they were downed 4-0 by North Toronto in League1 Ontario Premier Men’s soccer play Friday at Downsview Park.

Fadi Salback in the 10th minute and Matthew Perovic in the 19th started North Toronto on the way to its win.

Salback added his second goal in the 65th minute while the other goal was a United own goal four minutes later.

North Toronto improved to 3-4-4 (W-L-T) with the victory while United fell to 3-8-0 and are 11th in the 12-team division. That puts them in danger of being relegated to the Championship division next year.

United are to host Sigma FC (3-6-1) July 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the Centennial Bowl.
